Reading Activities – Y2 How well have you understood your book? Once you have read your book, you could do an activity based around it. Here are some suggestions to help or you could think of something else on your own. 1. Write a letter to the main character of the book. 2. Write a different ending for the book. 3. You might wish to draw a picture of part of the story or information and write a sentence about why it is important. 4. Create a travel brochure for the setting of the story. If it is a non-fiction book you could create an information brochure / poster. 5. Create a book cover, including illustrations, and some of the characters.

Write five questions that could be used to test other students’ understanding of the story. Make sure you provide a list of the answers. 10. Write a letter to the author of your book. You could even address it to the publisher and send it. Or, see if the author has a website and it. 11. Give a dramatic reading of a scene in the book to someone at home.
