Don’t fear! There are hundreds of service projects for your club to do!

4. Kiwanis Family Ask your Kiwanis Club!
Do service events with them!
Get ideas that you can bring back to your club.
This creates a strong bond with your Kiwanis Club.
Partner with a local Circle K, Builder’s Club, or even Kiwins!
Utilize the CNH Kiwanis Family Map to find local Kiwanis Family Clubs

5. Community
Reach out to community outreach organizations and schools for service opportunities in your area
Examples include your local YMCA, recreation center, or after-school programs
Research charities that make a difference in your area that your club could donate to or serve with
Find service events near you by using websites such as:
volunteermatch.org
idealist.org

6. Lt. Governor/Leadership Team
Lt. Governors are a great resource to learn about projects beyond the community level
Ask about upcoming division-wide service projects that your club could be a part of!
Look for inter-club events with the clubs in your division

A District Project, or Governor’s Project, is a 2-year long district-wide service initiative

The District Project focuses on the environment
Clubs are encouraged to develop service projects aimed at improving and cleaning our world
Ideas for service events include:
Beach Clean Ups
Recycling Drives
Park Beautification Days

10. Preferred Charities Information
UNICEF
Kiwanis International and UNICEF have come together to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus from the face of the Earth.
March of Dimes
This organization strives to prevent birth defects, promote healthy pregnancy, and provide medical support for premature infants.
Children’s Miracle Network
CMN supports hospitalized children and increases awareness of its member hospitals.
Thirst Project
The Thirst Project’s aim is to provide safe, clean drinking water to communities around the world where it is not easily accessible.

11. Project Ideas Craft “thank you” cards for Kiwanis and Faculty advisors
Make dog toys from old t-shirts to donate to pet shelters
Decorate non-slip socks for kids in hospitals
Hold a canned food drive
Create no-sew rice heating pads

12. Service Project Plannins
When planning a service project, partner with an organization and follow the guidelines below.
Planning. Research organizations to partner with and communicate by confirming logistical details with advisors and coordinators.
Delegating. Assign officers and coordinators with specific tasks to help the event run smoothly and keep everyone involved.
Action. Have all of your plans detailed and finalized. Once you have done this, you are ready to begin the service project.
Reflecting. After the service project is complete, clean the area that was used. Recognize the members, officers, organization, and Kiwanis for participating in the event. Reflect on the success of the event and consider areas for improvement.

SOSP Focus provides a specific area of service for each month
Clubs are encouraged to plan focus- related events to vary projects throughout the year

Recognize outstanding club SOSP service projects at the district level
Applications should be submitted through Google Form (accessible from the CyberKey and )
Applications due on the 5th of each month following the project
