State voucher program-changes this year Students do NOT register for this day; handled through school Mandatory participation/new graduation requirement Students with accommodations: April 18th-May 3rd window This program could look different next year (for current sophomores)

ACT vs SAT TN is an “ACT state” Both accepted at most colleges
Ivy League and some highly selective/out of states require SAT (and some even SAT subject tests) Student needs to check admissions requirements to schools they plan to apply Applying to a competitive school? Take both and see which you do better on! What does superscore mean? (It’s up to the college!)

4 year institutions: Up to $1,750 per semester for full-time enrollment as a freshman and sophomore; Up to $2,250 per semester for full-time enrollment as a junior and senior 2 year institutions: Up to $1,500 per full-time semester as freshman and sophomore

3.75 unweighted GPA and minimum 29 ACT Composite (or SAT equivalent) Up to $1,500 supplemental to HOPE scholarship

Merit-Based Institutional/University Scholarships
Some have different applications and deadlines than general admissions Also look at departmental scholarships (i.e. offered through College of Engineering) Let’s look at some examples

Putting it all together…
So, if a student graduates high school with a 3.75 unweighted GPA and scores a 29 on the ACT and is accepted to UTK, they would be eligible to receive: $3,500 HOPE $1,500 GAMS $3,000 Volunteer =$8,000 for freshman year
