We will allow plenty of time for a round table question and answer session on patient results reports at the end of the presentation.
3
The Components of SoftReports
SoftReports Designer Report Explorer Layout Editor Query Designer SoftReports Launcher Executing Ad hoc Reports Scheduling Ad hoc Reports Tracking Ad hoc Reports SoftReports Formatter PC A dedicated PC/Server that accepts the report *.xml data from the individual modules and translates it into the SoftReports format (*.pdf). SoftReports Program Software installed on the servers (“Main” and “Aux”). This is the actual application that executes for all active environments.
4
SoftReports Report Formatters
Dedicated servers required for SoftReports to run SoftReports software component “formats or transforms” the XML data Two formatters are required for 5000 orders or less. If more then 5000 SCC will evaluate. The formatters automatically load balances and in case one goes down the other acts as a backup and there will be no interruption of reports going out. These computers can be Physical or Virtual machines Formatters Formatters
5
Formatter specifications for a Physical machine
Standard Formatter PC hardware configuration: Server class Xeon or Opteron 2.5 GHz Dual or Quad core 4GB of RAM 2.1 GB of disk space for software and runtime files Network Adapter – 1 GBps Windows 2003 Server Web Edition or higher Internet Information Services Installed 4GB of paging space (virtual memory)
6
Formatter specifications for a Virtual machine
Requirements for Virtual PC Installations: Intel Xeon/AMD Opteron 2.0 GHz equivalent PC, configured in single core configuration 2 GB Ram Network Adapter 1 GBps 2.1 GB of disk space for software and runtime files Windows 2003 Server Web Edition or higher Internet Information Services Installed
7
Clients responsibilities
Purchasing two or more Server Spec PCs (can be virtual). Install IIS (Internet Information Services) and .NET Required. Adobe Reader version 7.0 or higher. Excel Viewer or Microsoft Office. Open task with IP addresses/Server names.
8
SCC products that also require formatters?
Patient Reports from all modules except SoftPath SoftReports Management Reports (Ad hoc) APR, AWR, Pharmacy and Radiology (Launcher Only) SoftTotalQC needs SoftReports to produce Reports/Labels SoftBank 25.1 and higher for management reports SoftExpress uses SoftReports for their management reports
9
Different versions of SoftReports
is a 32 bit version of Software it is not compatible with 64 bit operating systems is 32 bit compatible but is running on an 64 bit emulation 1.1.9.x will be native 64 bit compatible and able to work with ASCII Base 4.0.2, and 4.5

Our Application Servers
TomCat Used for the x line of SoftReports JBOSS or WebLogic Used for x line of SoftReports GlassFish Used for x - Our future line of SoftReports
11
What's next after HW/SW has been installed?
Schedule Kick off call to discuss workflow and reporting needs Send samples of Patient reports to the client Client comes to SCC to SoftReports class SoftReports Implementer works with the client to design their patient reports for Go-Live

Using SoftMedia for archiving with SoftReports
With the use of SoftMedia one is able to save an exact copy of the report with the original printed date and time. Any version of SoftReports will work with or higher of SoftMedia.

Example of an archived patient report
22
View the document within SoftMedia
23
Adding scanned documents to patient reports using SoftMedia
Using SoftMedia we have the capability of inserting scanned reports (if SoftMedia Global is purchased). This functionality can be used with batch reports from the Lab print scheduler, Instant reports or Cumulative reports.
24
Attaching scanned documents to patient reports
25
Output of the report with document or image attached
26

27
SoftReports is not just for Patient reports we can create forms
28
SoftReports can be used with SoftWeb Plus
SoftWeb Plus can use SoftReports RL1 layout to send to your outreach clients.
