6 Supplier Alliance (SUAL) Activities

7 History of CLEPA – JAPIA Cooperation
7/9 Since many years, high level Trilateral meetings once a year between CLEPA, JAPIA and MEMA (US). In 2002, Memorandum of Understanding between CLEPA, JAPIA and MEMA on exchange of information and regulatory cooperation at the United Nations for activities covered by the UN 1998 Global Agreement. In 2004, Memorandum of Understanding between CLEPA and JAPIA on exchange of information and regulatory cooperation at the United Nations for activities covered by the UN 1958 Agreement. In 2013, Memorandum of Understanding between CLEPA, JAPIA and AIAG (US) for cooperation to address global supply chain environmental reporting issues in collaboration with the OEM community.

8 Current Cooperation Issues
8/9 Regular Issues - Regular cooperation and exchange of information on regulatory issues such as REACH and ELV similar regulations in various countries Creating Common Positions - Common positions at IMDS SC meeting and meetings with OEMs - Common positions on revisions of EU ELV Annex II (exemptions to the ban on heavy metals) - Common positions on EU REACH and BPR implementations by OEMs - Common positions on GLAPS project

9 Prospect 9/9 Concerning ‘Product Environmental Issues’, suppliers cooperation is very useful and indispensable. JAPIA would like to cooperate with CLEPA and SUAL to follow up our activities continuously.
