3 Non-Hispanic ESL Student Placement
All Non-Hispanic ESL students receive optimal placement within the school This will provide: Additional direct contact with each student Small group (Tier 2) instruction; monitor deficiencies and progress of each student 2 or more teachers working together to vary activities depending on students needs

4 Non-Hispanic ESL 1 Students
Students will continue to receive: Grades based on a rubric (Effort & Participation Rubric for ESL 1 Students): S (Satisfactory), N (Needs Improvement), I (Improvement Needed) 1 period of ESL pullout daily 1 period of push-in ELA daily- small group instruction (Tier 2) 1 period of push-in Math daily- small group instruction (Tier 2) accommodations in Science & Social Studies, if needed by homeroom teacher the Marking Period District tests BUT the grade will not be factored into final Marking Period average

Classwork Lacks motivation and puts forth no effort in completing classwork Beginning to show effort in completing classwork within his/her language ability Shows effort in completing classwork within his/her language ability Homework Shows no effort in completing homework assignments Beginning to show effort in completing homework within his/her language ability Attempts to complete homework assignments within his/her language ability Group Activities/Participation No attempt is made to participate in activities Beginning to engage in class activities within his/her language ability Attempts to engage in class activities within his/her language ability Projects No attempt is made to complete class projects Beginning to show effort in completing class projects within his/her language ability Regularly demonstrates some effort to complete class projects to his/her language ability Tests/Quizzes No effort is made to prepare for tests & quizzes Beginning to show effort in preparing for tests & quizzes within his/her language ability Shows effort in demonstrating readiness for tests & quizzes to his /her language ability Scoring Key: Give a number for each category and then add your numbers for a total. Students will continue to receive: Grades based on a rubric (Effort & Participation Rubric for ESL II Students): S (Satisfactory), N (Needs Improvement), I (Improvement Needed), U (Unsatisfactory) 1 period of ESL pullout daily 1 period of push-in ELA daily- small group instruction (Tier 2) 1 period of push-in Math daily- small group instruction (Tier 2) accommodations in Science & Social Studies, if needed by homeroom teacher The Marking Period District tests and the grade will be factored into final Marking Period average

8 Non-Hispanic ESL 3 Students
Students will continue to receive: Grades: A, B, C, D, F 1 period of ESL pullout daily 1 period of push-in ELA daily- small group instruction (Tier 2) 1 period of push-in Math daily- small group instruction (Tier 2) Marking Period District Tests count as a quarter of their marking period final average accommodations in Science & Social Studies, if needed by homeroom teacher

9 Bilingual students will continue to receive:
1 period of pull-out ESL instruction daily 1 period of push-in ELA daily during Tier 2 instruction 1 period of push-in Math daily during Tier 2 instruction Math, Science, & Social Studies District Tests in Spanish only as a reference (Given ONLY to ESL 1 Students) ELA District Test in English for all ESL students

Started Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 3:15pm-5:15pm Offered Tuesdays & Thursdays Schools: Horace Mann, Robert Fulton, Lincoln, Franklin, & Kennedy Parents Please: Provide snack Pick children up promptly at 5:15pm Check our Bilingual/ESL Website for specifics
