8. Advantages and Disadvantages of Asexual Reproduction ADVANTAGES
Asexual reproduction is the production of the next generation but only using one parent.
Examples include: plant cuttings, plant “suckers”, stick insects and aphids (some generations only)

It is a very efficient way of making lots of the next generation
ALL the identical organisms are vulnerable to the same diseases as each other
It only requires one parent – this is easier if the species is solitary – e.g. tiger
Sexual Reproduction is the production of the next generation using genetic mixing from two parents.
