8 Battle of Tanga Leading up to the battle - Britain decided to fall back on neutrality agreement and try and take over Tanga When - November 5, 1914 Who - Indian Expeditionary force ( Britain) vs. Germany Location- Tanga Landscape- very hot and humid, because it's so close to the equator it experiences very tropical weather, surround cities to Tanga are Mombasa, and Zanzibar Town Objectives- IEF: Invade German area for Britain. GER: Keep Germán territory intact Germans won and British lost . In result it was an unsuccessful invasion for Britain and somewhat successful win for Germany despite loss of resources This battle was said to be the longest battle for the Germans in WW1

9 Battle of Salaita Hill What Led Up to the Battle Events that led up to the battle were that Brigadier General Beves’ 2nd and 1st East African Brigade were chosen to attack Salaita. 10 Salaita Hill Part 2 Objective For Winning The South Africans objective for winning was to push the Germans away from the lookout post and the Germans wanted to defend themselves Final Result: South Africans win and send reinforcements near kilimanjaro. Africans had 6,000 men with 172 dead, wounded, or missing The Germans had 2,300 to begin but it is unknown how many were killed because they fleeted the attack.url
