Searching for Resources
Library Catalogue (asu.library.lt): Information on printed materials held by the Library, e-books; ASU Virtual Library (ebiblioteka.asu.lt): Information on materials held by the Library; e-books; e-theses (online); scholarly articles (online); information on materials held in Lithuanian academic libraries, and etc.

How to find books? Books are stored in open stock, on the shelves according to UDC (universal decimal classification) and Call Numbers. Use Library Catalogue or ASU Virtual Library to find information about the books you wish to borrow.

Lending (1) Most of books can be borrowed, except:
Books from Archival stock; Encyclopedias; Periodicals; Doctoral and Master theses; The last copy of book.

Lending(2) The last copy of book is marked with a red stripe. You can read this book at the Library!

Lending (3) After finding the books, you must register the loan:
At the self- service machine, or At the Library helpdesk.

Reader Card Reader Card is necessary every time you wish to borrow a book! Reader card is issued at the Main Library (Central Building, room 235)

Loan Periods The Main Library: min 1 day, max 1 month
Textbooks Library: min 2 weeks, max 1 academic year The return date of the book is specified on the receipt or in the “My account” in Library catalogue.

Returning Books You can return books: At the self- service machine, or
At the Library helpdesk. Important: Return the books at the same Library where it was borrowed (The Main Library or the Textbooks Library). Return the same copy of the book.

Renewals You can extend the return deadline for books from the Main Library: if they are not overdue, if they have not been reserved by other readers. Renewal is available by: skype asu.biblioteka, phone (8-37) , in “My account” or at the Library helpdesk.

Fines 0,06 Eur - for each business day the item is overdue, if the initial loan period is 1 week or more; 0,60 Eur - for each business day the item is overdue if the initial loan period is 3 days or less. The borrower will be blocked from future loans until the fines are paid. A book that has been lost can be replaced by another one.

Library assistance (1) The Library will send you a message by e-mail:
When the book that you have ordered is available for loan; When the deadline of your loans is near; When you are late to return books and fines will be taken for overdue. Please check your ASU !
