Lab 2 Safety Hazards & Mitigations Deliverable 2: Safety Mitigation Slides (Team Deliverable) You must make the product immune to these real world hazards Single Point Device or Component Failures in Unsafe Manner Burns from Touchable Surfaces > 40oC or High Temp Over Ambient Electric Shock Fire, Explosion or Shattering Sharp Edges and Pinch Points Abusive or Unknowing Users including Children Find and Document All the Safety Test Standards applicable to your product to provide some safety test coverage Develop 1 page (minimum) Mitigation plans that include any design aspects as well as brief description of test plans to verify robustness (see template slides) Identify which blocks are affected by design aspects and add appropriate requirements to those blocks
