Schools/Teachers complete Istation Implementation Checklist before BOY Find checklist at Questions and support: Quick Facts: NM early reading assessment for Grades K-3 (K-2 Mandate, Grade 3 available option) Computer adaptive testing, evaluating foundational reading skills 3 Benchmark Assessments- BOY, MOY, EOY Monthly progress monitoring required for students scoring in ISIP Tiers 2 and 3 (below 40th Percentile) Offered in English and Spanish Quick facts- What should we do now? – discuss “Training” inquires and introduce Implementation Checklist- OAR has tried to streamline implementation for getting started for both schools and teachers since you can get lost for hours exploring their resources.

5 Isip reading assessments
Istation components reporting Isip reading assessments Instructional tools Reading assessments grades k-3 Monthly isip- Online assessment (approx 30 minutes) Computer adaptive technology selects successive questions based on responses to previous questions, tailoring assessment to each student’s level Immediate online reporting to determine areas of student need Reports available at student, class, grade, school, and district levels Formatted by month to go along with monthly isip 2500 scripted lessons and activities for intervention Songs, games, downloadable books, parent letters, etc… Instruction is available at additional cost, grades 4/5…

6 Istation Reading Assessment:
Istation assesses in these key domains: Phonological and Phonemic Awareness (rhyme; initial, middle and final sounds; segmenting and blending sounds) Phonics (letter knowledge, alphabetic decoding, spelling) Vocabulary (academic words in the language) Comprehension (listening/language comprehension, reading comprehension) Fluency (accuracy and rate, monitoring for comprehension) ISIP- Istation’s indicators of Progress (first monthly test) Benchmarks: September, January, may Progress monitoring for tiers 2 and 3: Oct, nov, dec, feb, march, april On-demand testing- only used during progress monitoring months if progress monitoring more than 1x/month Orange recommended subtests

Isip summary report: Shows student performance and tier levels Visual of tier levels Priority report: Shows priority intervention needs by student and links to related lessons Classroom summary: more detail- overall score, percentile rank, lexile

11 reminders Schools/Teachers complete Istation Implementation Checklist before BOY Find checklist at Questions and support: How ISIP Early Reading Works: ISIP Early Reading is adaptive at the item level, but also adapts at the subtest level. The assessment will bring in higher or lower subtests on the reading continuum to find the students’ ability level, so teachers can better meet the needs of their students.
