Method: Isolate the radical (leave it alone on one side of the equal sign). Raise each side of the equation to the power suggested by the index: square, cube, etc. or the reciprocal power. Solve the resultant equation by methods learned in previous topics (it could be linear, quadratic or higher degrees). Check your answers (Do not forget that radicals of even index have restrictions, so extraneous solutions may appear).
