Strictly Legs Over £500 million is spent annually on leg ulcer management in the UK. Between 25-65% of District Nurse time is spent caring for patients with leg ulcers.

Strictly Legs People with leg ulcers can experience:
Reduced levels of mobility Profound embarrassment Intense feelings of social isolation This can lead to Increased healing time Increased risk of depressive illness Lack of concordance with treatment which in turn leads to increased care cost.

Strictly Legs In 1995 Ellie Lindsay, a District Nurse from Suffolk established the first leg club in a community church hall.

Strictly Legs Leg Clubs create a community based framework for holistic care promoting positive health beliefs through patient empowerment, peer example education and informed choice.

Strictly Legs Members experience companionship, develop friendship and become once again fully integrated into their communities, thus now bringing new meaning to their lives.

Strictly Legs Leg club staff work in a unique partnership with their members and local community. Working within best practise guidelines they provide a high standard of care in a social and friendly community.

Strictly Legs During this time ulcers heal rapidly and remain healthy which highlights a reduction in the cost of treatment.

Strictly Legs Members are given health advice on a range on conditions and District Nurses no longer have to use valuable time travelling between homes in a never ending cycle of treatment, recurrence and delayed healing.
