1 Deild SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES Titill rannsóknar Höfundur Income Allocation of Icelandic Homes and Main Influencing Factors Dr. Helga Kristjánsdóttir Objective: To increase the efficiency of government transfers to children families. Process: A survey will be conducted to analyze the following: To which degree do couples pool their income? Does educational background affect income pooling? Is income pooling affected by reduced salaries or unemployment? To which degree has greater gender equality in the labor market, together with more income equality of couples, resulted in greater equality within the household? Value: This research provides an opportunity to increase the efficiency of welfare transfers to certain society groups. The research is unique in Iceland and provides an opportunity for international comparison and publication in peer reviewed international journals.
