1 Dual Credit- Giving Students a Head-Start

2 What is “Articulation” at FVTC?
Two types of agreements, or articulations: Advanced Standing: A high school class that is closely matched to a current FVTC class. Through an agreement, HS content is taught – when students receive a B or better and self-identify when starting a program at FVTC, course is added to transcript. Dual Credit: An FVTC class, taught by a college-certified high school teacher, in the high school. Students are registered & graded through FVTC and when they pass with a C or better, have an FVTC transcript/credits to take wherever they chose.

3 What’s the process for getting Dual Credit certified?
For Technical Studies courses: Submit DC course request, DPI license and complete an FVTC application. For General Studies courses: Submit course request, DPI license, appropriate transcripts or documentation and complete an FVTC application.

4 Once you are certified, how do you get training and access to content?
Initial collaborations with your faculty peer Access to FVTC network/resources 2017 Summer Summits On-going FVTC support throughout your articulation journey

5 Teacher Responsibilities
Adhere to Curriculum/Fidelity Log students into accounts at FVTC Grades Attend Summer Institutes Hold current Teaching License

6 Timelines… Add new FVTC course descriptions to your course catalog
Planning for those designations on hs transcripts All new course requests to Tess Woods by February 15th Begin collaborating with your assigned FVTC faculty partner Submit follow-up documents prior to end of school year, on-going discussions with FVTC faculty partner Register for appropriate Summer Summit Begin teaching FVTC Advanced Standing or Dual Credit course, Fall 2017
