INFLAMMATION What is inflammation?
it’s a body response against ( MILD or MODERATE) injury , it’s a first line of defense. Not severe enough to cause cell death (necrosis).
2
Inflammation is of two types:
1- acute : sudden onset 2- chronic : gradually 3-sub-acute: something between the acute and chronic.
3
Aim of inflammation: 1- remove and destroy the irritant.
2- prevent further spreading of the irritant. This irritant may be: 1- living : bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi. 2- non-living: mechanical: shock, accident Chemical, immunological.
