4. School school every day!
Americans please be at school every day as well; if not your German student must still come
Germans will shadow first, then be adopted, then be on their own schedules.
Always meet at Frau Holmquist’s room if you cannot find your German student!

5. Practice/ sports Go along with you Home with siblings
Send with another family who is hosting

6. Eating Jet lag/ may not be hungry the first couple days
Lunch versus dinner
Provide lunch (snack) when they are in school
Please treat them if taking the family out
Don’t be afraid to cook!
Ask if they are hungry or thirsty, they may be too shy to tell you

7. Problems Discuss with FRAU! Try to work it out
Switch homes if ABSOLUTELY necessary(last resort but we will do it)
Be direct with them-the Germans are often very direct!

8. Ideas for activities Stores! Costco, Cabelas, grocery shopping
Bowling, mini golf, fishing, etc.
Hiking (Mt. Peak, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens)
Tacoma, Portland, Ocean Shores, Leavenworth…
shopping/movies/downtown Enumclaw
High school sporting events/play
Zoo or NW Trek
Sounders game (3/31/17)
Out of town grouping up is fine!

9. Spend time together Try to spend some time together most days
Board games, card games, video games
Some alone time
Don’t worry if your German closes their door!
