Belgium’s Top hits through the years
Half the country may speak Dutch and the other half French, with separate music charts for each region, but that hasn't hindered the development of a music scene distinct from either of its counterparts across the border. Pop Jacques Brel (1929-1978) Born in Brussels, Belgium
Created and performed a catalog of songs that brought him a large, devoted following in France. Major influence on English-speaking writers and performers including Leonard Cohen and David Bowie, while translations of his songs were recorded by a wide range of performers from the Kingston Trio to Frank Sinatra.

Salvatore Adamo (1943-Present)
Born in Sicily in the small commune of Comiso. In 1947, his father, Antonio, went to work as a miner in Belgium. In June of that year, Sal moved in with him. Parents did not want their son to become a miner and made great sacrifices to give him a good education in a strict Catholic school run by the Frères des Ecoles Chrétiennes.

Stromae - means Maestro (1985- Present)
Real name is Paul Van Haver Belgian musician, singer, rapper and songwriter. Rwandan father and a Belgian mother. Originally from Laeken, in Brussels, he established himself in both the hip hop and electronic music genres. Came to wide public attention with his song "Alors on danse", which became a number one in several European countries.

Lara Fabian (1970-Present)
Real name : Lara Crokaert She has sold over 20 million records worldwide and is the best-selling Belgian female artist of all time. Born in Etterbeek, Brussels to a Belgian father and a Sicilian mother. Since 1996 she has also held a Canadian citizenship alongside her original Belgian citizenship.

Rap/Hip-Hop Starflam From Liège in the frenchspeaking southeastern part of Belgium - Walloon. Started out in the early 1990s under the name H-Posse with members DJ Mig One, Fred'Alabas, SEG and Balo (Baloji).

Hamza Born 1994 From the city of Brussels, Belgium.
In December 2013 he released his first free mixtape entitled Recto Verso when he was only 19 years old. He is still making music today. His latest album came out in 2016

Born in Braine-l'Alleud in 1979 of an Italian mother and a Belgian father Rapper,actor and a comedian In 2005, won eight of the sixteen awards in the "Musiques à la française" competition.
