Slide 7 – This is a story I tell students before introducing them to phrasal verbs. It’s about a guy who wakes up and remembers a dream about a beautiful blonde. He gets up, sets off for work and as he is driving he sees a blonde woman driving, so he follows her. But his cars breaks down. After he calls out the AA, he sets off again and catches up with her. Unfortunately it turns out it was his blonde neighbour, who is 70 years old. After the story I ask what vocab they remembered and see if they cottoned on to the phrasal verbs. Then do Vocab on page 32.
