Measured by depression of freezing point or elevation of vapour pressur of medium.
Hepes ,acids and bases are used for regulation of osmolality.

5. FOAMING…. Characteristic of suspension. Denatration of proteins.
Interfare with the exchange of gas phase.
To prevent foaming add antifoaming agent ex: pluronic F68,carboxy methyl cellulose CMC).

6. VISCOSITY…..
Prevent cell damage(cell agitation or after trypsinization).
Increase viscosity by adding carboxymethlycellulose or polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) AND SERUM.
