What was the aim of Germany during world war1?
Germany’s aim was to weaken Frances military and economical power for a least a generation. The weakening of France will allow a peace treaty to be signed between Germany and France which will give Germany economic domination of the French market. Germany wanted to also build a empire in Europe. to this Germany wanted to take land from Germany and turn it into a vassal of the German empire. They also wanted to establish a economical alliance called Mitteleuropa, which would give the a powerful position over the economics of all the nations members.

Diary entries of a German soldier
The link in which I will add below is a diary entry by a German soldier explaining the life style of the trenches. In his diary we see that Germany takes care of their soldiers. For example, the soldier wrote for Saturday 27th of march and Monday 29th of march, that if any soldier got infected with lice they are supposed to report the problem. After that they clean the German soldier and give them new, clean uniforms. Similarly they give them special equipment such as a neck pound to keep the lice away. Similarly we see the power of Germany through this diary entry by how, they were prepared with medicine, clothing and salinity. This were equipment and medicines which most countries never had for there soldiers. soldier-courcy-france-1915/

Federal monarchy Germany’s political system was a federal monarchy. A federal monarchy means that emperor which was Wilhelm II, was head of state and also the president of federal monarchy’s. The federal monarchy started off with Wilhelm the first. He made this rule because he wanted to reduce conflict of the word emperor of Germany. Unfortunately Wilhelm the second removed this system when they were teamed up with Austro-Hungary. This made him very unpopular amongst the people. at the end of ww1 he resigned and fled to exile in Holland.

Source 1 This picture is actually a German propaganda postcard. In the photo we can see Germany and their ally playing tug of war with the countries. We can see that Germany is winning because of the way the other people or countries falling over and tripping over each other. We can also analyse that Germany is trying to encourage more people to join the war by telling them that they are winning the war. We can also see that for them to completely win they need more people. the main message that Germany is trying to convey is that they are winning the war with austro-hungary.

Source 2 In this propaganda photo we see the way a German soldier or general is taking out all the opposing allies. This encourages the young men of Germany to join the war and help to win.
