3. Brief information on Tajikistan
Population – 8.1 million (WB, 2014)
The population, who are living in rural areas – 70%
GDP Growth– 6.7% (WB, 2014)
Employment in agriculture – 65,5%
Agriculture contribution in GDP – 23,5%
Territory of RT -14,3 mln.ha;
Mountain ranges cover about 93% of the
countries;

 The territory is mountains with absolute height 300 up to 7495 meters above sea level;
Forestry coverage - 3%
Area of forest fund – near 2,0 mln.ha;
Area of free State Forest Fund -1.3 mln.ha;
Public forest fund- 90 thousand ha
Area of special protected areas mln.ha

5. National initiatives on cooperation between Tajikistan and FTPP-2 and FTFPP
Strengthening food safety and implementation of HACCP standards in food production ;
Analysis of the value chain products in Tajikistan (plum, cherry) and continuation of pre-existing works in value chain products (lemons, tomatoes, apricots, meat and milk);

6. Improve the agriculture mechanization (establishment and strengthening of the service cooperatives, introduction of modern technology and techniques, organization the regional agricultural exhibitions, improving storage and transportation of the agricultural products);
Provision with high-quality feed in fishery sector through establishment of the production of high-quality and nutritious feed in Tajikistan (production of the food – is main factor for fishery development, improvement of the production and provision the population with fishery products)

7. Improve animal feed production (fodder crops growing technology, modern storage technology and production of the animal feeds);
Involve the local population for forest management approaches through using Joint Forest Management (JFM) to address the issue of forest degradation and forest exploitation ;
