2 Assignment books (Planners)
Students will be recording the daily activities in the classroom, reminders for upcoming events, as well as homework ~ HW. Please review your child’s assignment book nightly. Assignment books should be signed by a parent on a daily basis. Used for communication – quick, brief notes

3 Birthdays & Book Orders
Birthdays at VSE are celebrated in the classroom. Edible treats are not allowed. Instead, you can send in pencils, erasers, etc… or buy a book for the school library or donate an indoor recess game in honor of your child! Book Orders will be sent home monthly. You can conveniently order online or send the order to school with a check made out to Scholastic.

19 Questions Questions – Please question your child each day after school. Ask what they learned, who they played with, and what they ate, etc…. Avoid yes/no questions – they don’t encourage conversation! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have!

Check your child’s planner nightly. Make sure they do their reading and math minutes. Promote a positive attitude towards school and learning. Provide a quiet study area at home.
