2. ORIGINS
Its origins go back to a first settlement of the Berbers that arrived after the conquest of the Iberian Peninsula, its old denomination, Manzil Barbar, name of Arab origin.

3. LOCATION
The town of Monzalbarba belongs to the Region of Zaragoza and is located 12 km from Zaragoza.
It has 204 meters of altitude.
Monzalba is a rural district located on the right bank of the River Ebro
It has an approximate population of 1,809 inhabitants.

4. IMPORTANT MONUMENTS

5. HERMITAGE OF SAGRADA It has a single nave with three sections
It is Mudejar from the 16th century.
In 2002 the City of Zaragoza carried out a restoration. 

6. TOWER OF THE CHURCH The temple was dedicated to San Miguel Arcángel.
In 1963 the old parochial temple was demolished and its tower remained.      
In 1992, the restoration work on the exterior of the tower was completed.
In the years 2002 and 2003 it was demolished to restore the tower in its totality.

7. PUBLIC CENTERS

8. LUDOTECA It is a center in which children learn to play.
They do several activities for example festivals or musicals.

9. YOUTH CLUB
They organize activities for leisure time, while promoting the formation, information, communication and cultural production of young people.
It is for young people from 12 and 30 years old who want to meet new people, play sports or develop some kind of artistic and cultural activity.

12. Virgen de la Sagrada:
On September 8th , the Monzalbarba neighborhood celebrates its patron saint festivals in honour of the Virgen de la Sagrada.
San Blas:
On February 3th the district of Monzalbarba celebrates the festival of San Blas

13. DANZANTES
In the celebrations of Monzalbarba in honour of the Sacred, there is a procession to the hermitage. In it the dancers palotean to the sound of the music interpreted by dulzainas, drums and a harmonica. Monzalbarba is the only neighborhood in Aragón where palotean not only with sticks but with swords too.
