1 Unit Organization 1. Unit Organization. NC is comprised of one group and three squadrons. Each semester, the three flights will be established based on class period. 1.1. General. A general description of the key staff positions within our group are found in the following paragraphs. The Cadet Group Commander and Cadet Deputy Group Commander are selected by the SASI/ASI . They, in turn, may recommend cadets for the following staff positions, allowing cadet squadron commanders an opportunity to recommend their respective staff positions. The SASI/ASI will consider the recommendations with the authority to make the final decision. Upon assignment of a staff position, the cadet will receive a continuity folder which describes in more detail their duties and responsibilities. Upon receipt of this folder, each staff position is responsible to develop a personalized continuity folder for their respective position within the next 10 days. This folder will be maintained in the classroom, unless properly signed-out. The SASI, ASI or senior cadet training each staff position can provide any information a cadet needs at any time – if you’re not sure about anything pertaining to your duties and responsibilities, just ask. 1.2. Cadet Group Commander. The Cadet Group Commander is the senior position and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the group. Planning and coordinating all group activities, facilities and resources, and developing and overseeing the group calendar of events. Ensuring all members of the cadet corps have the opportunity to develop leadership commensurate with their abilities. Initializing the Unit Assessment, ensuring completion, documentation and staff involvement. Developing the Unit Brief, conducting a formal or informal briefing with staff involvement. Establishment, documentation and completion of all unit goals.

2 1.3. Cadet Deputy Group Commander. The Cadet Deputy Group Commander
works very closely with the Cadet Group Commander and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the group, leading by example. Oversight of all officers, cadet squadron commanders and key staff positions, ensuring all suspenses are met, providing training and assistance as necessary. Assisting the Cadet Group Commander with the Unit Assessment and Unit Brief. Command of the group during absence of the Cadet Group Commander. 1.4. Cadet First Sergeant. The Cadet First Sergeant is the liaison between the enlisted corps and the group staff. He or she reports to the Cadet Group Commander and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the enlisted within the group, leading by example. Advise the Cadet Group Commander on recruitment opportunities, and enlisted issues, with possible suggestions. Oversight of the Cadet Promotion Board, ensuring process is in in compliance with the Cadet Training Guide. Perform duties associated with the Merit/Demerit System as as outlined in the Cadet Training Guide. 1.5. Cadet Drill Team Commander. The Cadet Drill Team Commander has oversight of the Drill Team working with the Cadet Color Guard Commander. He or she reports to the Cadet Group Commander and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the drill team members, leading by example. Scheduling and leading drill practices, to include armed, unarmed, saber and exhibition, based on the desires of the cadet corps. Performing monthly inventories of drill team assets. Coordinating all drill team competitions as the project officer. 1.6. Cadet Color Guard Commander. The Cadet Color Guard Commander has oversight of the Color Guard Teams working with the Cadet Drill Team Commander, reports to the Cadet Group Commander and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the color guard members, leading by example. Scheduling and leading color guard practices. Performing monthly inventories of color guard assets. Coordinating all school color guard events or community- requested events as the project officer.

3 1.7. Cadet Stan/Eval Officer. The Cadet Stan/Eval Officer implements
standardization of processes within the cadet corps through the evaluation process. He/she reports to the Cadet Group Commander and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the group, leading by example. Conducting the Unit Assessment ensuring completion, documentation and staff involvement. Standardization of the uniform wear evaluations, reviewing flight evaluation scores for trends. Standardization and/or evaluation of other corps processes as requested by the Cadet Group Commander. 1.8. Cadet Operations Squadron Commander. The Cadet Operations Squadron Commander has oversight of flight operations, reports to the Cadet Deputy Group Commander, and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the Operations Squadron staff and flights, leading by example. Ensuring all processes affecting flight management are conducted in accordance with the Unit Training Guide. Reviewing and updating the Cadet Training Guide to ensure compliance with Headquarters JROTC guidance. Oversight of flight commanders, ensuring Cadet Flight Commanders are effectively performing their duties. 1.9. Cadet Flight Commander. The Cadet Flight Commander has oversight of their respective flight operations, reports to the Cadet Operations Squadron Commander, and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the flight, leading by example. Planning and coordinating flight goals. Relaying information on corps activities and programs. Cadet Flight Sergeant. The Cadet Flight Sergeant works closely with the Cadet Flight Commander and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the flight, leading by example. Assisting in the planning and coordination of flight goals. Command of the flight in the absence of the Cadet Flight Commander.

4 1. 11. Cadet Physical Fitness Monitor
Cadet Physical Fitness Monitor. The Cadet Physical Fitness Monitor implements the Presidential Fitness Program for their respective Flight, reports to the Cadet Flight Commander, and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the flight during physical fitness, leading by example. Implementing, coordinating and documentation of the Presidential Fitness Program for their respective flight, including supervising stretching exercises prior to physical activity. Updating WINGS on exercises conducted and providing to each flight cadet a print-out of their physical fitness status. The inventory of physical fitness equipment. Cadet Element Leader. The Cadet Element Leader assists the Cadet Flight Commander and Cadet Flight Sergeant in flight supervision and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of their respective element, leading by example. Assist in signing out textbooks and distribution/turn-in of classwork for their element, Assist the Cadet Flight Commander and Cadet Flight Sergeant in flight goal implementation and completion. 1.13. Cadet Support Squadron Commander. The Cadet Support Squadron Commander oversees all support staff and processes, reports to the Cadet Deputy Group Commander, and is responsible for: The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training and conduct of the Support Squadron staff, leading by example. Ensuring all processes affecting support group activities are conducted in accordance with the Unit Training Guide. Recording and posting Group staff meeting minutes. Oversight of Support Staff positions, to ensure suspenses are met and staff members are effectively performing their duties. Cadet Cyber Officer. The Cadet Cyber Officer handles cyber or information technology issues for the group, reports to the Cadet Support Squadron Commander, and is responsible for: Serving as the primary contact for updating the unit web-site. Inputting and updating all cadet information into WINGS, to include promotions, awards, and personal information, observing privacy act and information security. Submitting newsletters for cadet program and upon request, submitting news articles to school and local newspapers concerning cadet activities.

5 1.15. Cadet Personnel NCO. The Cadet Personnel NCO maintains cadet
personnel files, reports to the Cadet Support Squadron Commander, and is responsible for: Filing all documentation in cadet records. Maintaining the group organizational chart and unit manning document. Ensuring group staff room is presentable and stocked with necessary office supplies. . Cadet Uniform NCO. The Cadet Uniform NCO oversees uniform logistics, reports to the Cadet Support Squadron Commander, and is The appearance and organization of the uniform storage room. Ensuring all uniform inventories are properly conducted and documented in accordance with HQ AFJROTC guidance. Assisting instructors in distributing uniforms to cadets. Cadet Ribbons NCO. The Cadet Ribbons NCO oversees ribbon and rank The appearance and organization of the storage for ribbons and ranks. Ensuring all ribbons and ranks inventories are properly conducted and documented in accordance with AF JROTC guidance. Updating cadet ribbons. 1.18. Cadet Curriculum NCO. The Cadet Curriculum NCO oversees all Air Force and non-Air Force curriculum assets, reports to the Cadet Support Squadron Commander and is responsible for: The appearance and organization of the storage for textbooks, DVDs and other curriculum assets. Ensuring all curriculum assets are inventoried in accordance with AFJROTC guidance. Cadet Special Projects Officer/NCO. A Cadet Special Projects Officer/NCO reports to the SASI or ASI and is responsible for all duties assigned by the SASI.
