3 Pcb: methods Batch experiments US-EPA 608 method for extraction
Aroclor 1242 solution prepared to exceed solubility limit in water 30 mg of the sorbent material added to 300 mL of aroclor solution Stirred at 700 rpm for 1 hour 5 mL aliquots at 5, 10, 20, 30, and 60 min US-EPA 608 method for extraction Methylene chloride and KD concentration Extracts analyzed with Shimadzu GCMS-QP2010

4 Pcb: results Majority of adsorption occurs within 5 minutes
Maximum percent removal: 90% in 10 min
