Explain the purpose of the major organ systems in the human body

3 Muscular System Purpose
The muscular system is found through out your body and helps your body move around. The muscular system is one of the 11 organ systems which make your body work each and every day, all throughout the day. The muscular system holds everything in place, your organ systems, your teeth and eyes, and all your bones. It gives your body it’s shape, without it, we would be literally a skeleton with organs hanging and loose veins.

4 Muscular System Function
Muscles move by contracting, or pulling to shorten their length. Muscles help you do lots of things. Muscles help you breathe, help you talk, and even to help your heart beat. About 40% of your body weight is muscle. Muscles make the parts of your body move around and perform certain tasks that we need in our everyday lives.

5 Different Types of Tissues found in the Muscular System…
Smooth muscle (tissue) Cardiac muscle Skeletal muscle

6 Cardiac Muscles Cardiac muscle gets it’s name from heart. That’s why it's mostly found in the heart. Most of your heart is made of cardiac muscle. Cardiac muscles help your heart beat each and every day. Cardiac muscles are involuntary muscles. They automatically move in the same rhythm your whole life until you past away. The nervous system controls how much the heart beats. Cardiac muscle cells are Y-shaped.

8 Smooth Muscles (tissue)
Smooth muscles are divided into 2 parts, the unitary and the multiunitary. Smooth muscles are found in the hollow parts of the body. They are found in the stomach, the intestines, and the blood vessels. Smooth muscles are arranged in layers with fibers in each layer moving in different directions. That helps them contract in different ways. Smooth muscles are involuntary.

9 Skeletal Muscles There are about 640 skeletal muscles in the body. Skeletal muscles are connected to bones by tendons Skeletal muscles are voluntary muscles. Biceps, triceps, hamstrings, and your gluteus maximums are examples of skeletal muscles. Skeletal Muscles help protect inner organs. Skeletal Muscles work in pairs. A muscle that bends a part of your body is a flexor, and a muscle that straightens it is called an extensor.

11 Major Muscles in the Human Body
The gluteus maximums is a broad thick muscle found in the rear end that helps us stand upright. The bicep is a muscle found on the front of the upper arm that is used to rotate the forearm and flex the elbow. The triceps is a muscle that is found on the back of our upper limb that helps us straighten our arms Hamstrings are the tendons found at the back of the knee, which helps us flex our knees The pectorals are muscles in our chest that help us take deep breaths and pick up heavy things.

13 Muscle System Injuries
There are a lot of ways muscles can get injured. A strain is when a muscle or tendon is overstretched or torn. Strains can happen when muscles aren’t warmed up or worked too hard. People who exercise too much can hurt their tendons. If the muscles are worked too hard, the tendons can become inflamed. This is known as tendinitis.
