COPERNICUS Core Services
Services monitoring Earth systems Global Land Marine Atmosphere More applied in their title, nothing clear on Atmosphere Climate Change Emergency Security
4
Data Policy Value added of an Operational Core Services
Long term and reliable provision of products and services for downstream applications Delivery of fully validated products and services COPERNICUS: a public good. • free and open access (Security restrictions may apply)

Copernicus High resolution Hot Spot Monitoring
Objective To produce land cover and land cover change maps and related indicators over specific Areas of Interest (AOI) using medium to high resolution satellite data (from 1 to 30m pixel size)
9
Copernicus High resolution Hot Spot Monitoring
Aim – Hot Spot Monitoring Service To support development projects and specific monitoring To provide detailed land information on specific areas of interest globally To answer to ad-hoc requests within the domain of the sustainable management of natural resources complement the near real time global monitoring service at low resolution Support projects such as BIOPAMA and activities as GMES&Africa, AfriGEOSS…

Statistics and Indicators
cropland expansion and change Loss / gain of natural vegetation % and ha LC per class Artificial and build up surfaces Pressure Index – change in the Natural Vegetation Intactness Index over time Natural Vegetation Intactness Index – level of disturbance given by absence / presence of human activities
