High School Students Internship and Teacher programmes

High School Students Internship Programme CERN has invited 24 high school students (aged 16-19) to come to CERN for two weeks, to gain practical experience in science, technology, and innovation National contact Hilde Lynnebakken, UiO Planning Missing ~10 supervisors 15th-28th October 2017

150 applications from 27 schools ~13 times the number of applications received from France if calculated pro rata We recognize the good representation from the cities regularly sending classes to visit CERN

Good gender distribution of the applications
10 boys and 14 girls have been selected based on submitted motivation letters and geographical distribution

Overview So far, 109 teachers took part in national teacher programmes & 17 teachers participated in our international teacher programmes. This means, the total for is 126 Norwegian teachers. Furthermore, next year’s programme is already half-booked, which looks really promising for the future!

… which results in many visits
Overall from Sep to Aug. 2017 ~ 1 group per week 64 visits, 1364 visitors 48 unique groups, corresponding to 951 visitors and later hopefully applications to the various CERN student programmes
