Identify and discuss the main point of the paragraph - Write a summary on your NEEDS notes sheet – right underneath the triangle

8 Concepts We all have needs, the important thing is to try to meet our needs in a healthy way. We judge other people’s behavior based on our own perspectives – that may not always be the case!!

9 Read: Changes of Heart With Your Partner Consider the following:
What needs were not being met in Marcy’s life prior to entering the correctional facility? What needs did Marcy meet in a negative or unhealthy way? How were Marcy and Spiker’s lives similar? What needs did Marcy have met by participating in the dog training program? Have the students read the story – have them pair up with another student. Have them answer the following questions and turn in one sheet that provides evidence of the discussion.

10 Checking For Understanding
Personal Connection: (Complete the following on the back of your hierarchy) Name each of the levels of the hierarchy and explain how you are meeting your needs for each. If possible give two specific ways. Or, explain why you think this need is not being met in your life.

Write a paragraph explaining which level – or need is the most impactful in the life of a teenager. Explain your answer with three arguments.

What is the big idea that your health teacher wanted you to take away from the lesson on needs?
