Energy Transformations
2
Learning Scale 4 - Cite evidence to support the Law of Conservation of Energy. 3 - Investigate and describe the transformation of energy that occurs in given examples. 2 - Differentiate between kinetic and potential energy. 1 - Identify examples of kinetic and potential energy.
3
What is energy transformation?
The change in energy from one form to another.
4
Law of Conservation of Energy
Energy can be transformed from one form into another or transferred from one region to another, but energy cannot be created or destroyed.
5
Changing Potential & Kinetic Energy
6
Explain what is happening in terms of potential and kinetic energy.
7
Explain when there is potential energy and when there is kinetic energy.
8
Keep in mind that energy transformations do not only apply to potential and kinetic energy.
10
Describe the Energy Transformation of a Microwave
11
Electric energy radiant (light) energy thermal energy
12
Describe the Energy Transformation of a Lightbulb.
