My Work Experience 1

The Station’s History in Five Steps
In 1996, under the codename ‘Corby 108’, the first broadcast was made at the Corby’s festival hall. In 1998 the old doctor’s surgery became the new home of the station. In 2007, the station moved to the Connaughty Centre in Cottingham Road. In 2009, Corby Radio arrived on FM on and after permission was given by OFCOM, the station won the right to broadcast to the borough of Corby. In 2012, the station moved to and which currently remains their base, on Corporation Street.

My First Experience I spent the majority of my time at the heart of the station. I felt thrust in and didn’t really feel that I was gaining anything. It was so busy when I did try and work, I really struggled to concentrate on a single task. I didn’t feel I was improving just coasting. It was more of a chore than then a worthwhile experience. 3

My Second Experience I felt immediately catered for and knew that they were going to take me seriously. I was given my own studio to work in, my space to do with as I chose. I did feel the overall effect of being monitored and isolated, both of which helped me greatly.

My Published Content Stewart told me that I had made more progress in the first three days during my fortnight than I did in my entire first week. After Stewart ed the press releases on day one I began to break them down. Stewart explained that alongside my publishing, I should start working on my broadcasting. 5

My Broadcast material I started to develop my voice and pronounce the key words. I edited the press releases for the purpose of a radio bulletin along with publishing it on social media. Once I had taken the , I formatted them and then checked with Stewart for mistakes. News Weather 6
