Do you know the meaning of these words? Your child soon will as we begin a fun writing project that also allows us to develop a large vocabulary. We are going to have some fun this Fall with this project! Students will learn lots of sophisticated vocabulary (like morose, livid, garrulous, boisterous, cantankerous, and more!). Each student will research the meaning of his/her vocabulary word. Next, they will draft, edit, and revise a story focused on how a pumpkin with that personality trait would behave. To bring our stories to life, we will have a “Pumpkin Personalities” day where students will decorate a pumpkin as their story’s pumpkin character. Later, we will have a celebration and share our Pumpkin Personalities Vocabulary and Writing Project. We would love your support for this highly creative project. Donations of the following types of items would be helpful: Your child may also have some ideas for items he/she may need depending on the story that they write. Thanks for your support! google eyes of different sizes fake jewelry/beads ribbon, rickrack, etc. aluminum foil …anything else that you think would allow us to be creative with our pumpkin friends! craft pom-poms fake hair or yarn popsicle sticks fabric scraps paint pens cardboard scraps feathers
