18 CS inputs to IEEE-TA Technical Activities Ad Hoc on Standards
24-Mar-08 28-Mar-08

19 Initial CS Recommendations - 1
Aim to insure “first to market” for IEEE standards Harmonize standards portfolio planning and the TA technology road map. Increase investment on the part of societies into the standards projects, especially in early stages Reduce Standards Development interval Provide IT support to Study Groups (SG) and Working Groups (WG) for both virtual meetings and attracting qualified volunteers Reward Societies for investing their members’ IP in IEEE-SA Implement 3-level pricing for products and services (non-IEEE, IEEE, IEEE/Society) Resell agreements with Societies Appeal to Sponsoring Committee members to become members of SA and member of the sponsor society Require Sponsor Ballot Group members to be members of the sponsor society in addition to being member of IEEE-SA (or pay balloting fee) Societies should include sponsored WGs in their awards activities Standards Committee should have presence on Society’s BoG & representation on the IEEE-SA Standards Board 28-Mar-08

20 Initial CS Recommendations - 2
Conferences should offer standards-related program tracks Publications should include Standards relevant issues or series Technical Committees should offer their global expert pool access to WGs should be required to have active links to their Standards Subcommittees 28-Mar-08
