2. Background
SD-WAN market and deployments based on proprietary vendor implementations are proceeding rapidly
SPs are looking to interface these proprietary implementation to broader OSS/BSS capabilities to provide end-to-end fulfillment and service assurance
ONAP can further extend its applicability to above deployments by allowing for either proprietary implementations or fully home brewed ONAP based SD-WAN implementations
Proposal is to have a plug-in architecture which will allow for any proprietary or home brewed SD-WAN implementation to interface to overall ONAP orchestration and service assurance
Proposal is aligned with R2+ ONAP architecture in planning and industry standards such as MEF (LSO to SD-WAN Controller Interface)
