We have developed a scorecard.. Leaders have traits that are and should be part of their DNA … This scorecard pretty much captures all.

Leadership is the process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and and directs the organization in a way

A leader is one who has the ability to influence people towards achieving a goal that is focused and supportive of the organizations mission

The Person is committed to the purpose and be competent to influence people towards a common goal..

Before you step on the ladder to leadership there factors that you need to evaluate …. Know who you are and what you are capable of doing successfully . Secondly convincing your followers that you are worth following . Lots of smart people out there they might not have followers .. There is a place for everyone maybe not as a leader but maybe be effective at tasks that need to be done towards the goal .

Six marks of a Leader Listens skillfully Enthuses and Inspires
Acts creatively and decisively Dependable and reliable Educated and aware Results driven Common traits surrounding a a leader .. Many leaders talk /speak /dialogue but the most effective ones Listen and observe . Leaders don’t tell you what to do they inspire and enthuse you to be innovative /implement and execute . They are very aware of whats going on in the room .. Who can tell me what Donald Trump did today ? Update on Stock market ?

Who is ready for the call ?
Ask yourself the basic questions…. What have you done locally ? Area ? National ? How can you transfer your skills from your job or board or other work to Links ? Have you participated in any leadership training at your company and or links that is beneficial ? What are your strengths and weaknesses ? How can you leverage your strengths and improve on the weak areas .

Understand your governing documents (bylaws nominating manual etc.) Review the Nominating Toolkit and FAQ Participate in Area Leadership summits Participate on webinars (3 a year) Evaluate your strengths to determine how can you add value to the organization . Become familiar with requirements for each elected position as appropriate Assess the impact of your path and journey
