Building upon the existing collaboration EYR-Global
Reaching researchers, finding out what their requirements are
Enriching (inter)national research collaborations with NREN resources
NRENs have always supported the traditionally data-intensive communities (usual suspects)
A bit more structured activity under the Geant umbrella, we have specific tasks, a timeline and geant support.
Geant organisation is the overarching European research network organisation

Not everything could be done within EYR, we felt a need to make research engagement globally more scalable
Having these spaced out single events, doesn’t work for everybody, having something that is a more active, structured collaboration around activities was something we felt we needed.
There are newly data-intensive research communities that can benefit from connecting to those communications channels
By sharing experiences of small scale research engagement activities we can feed back into the other research networking community.
