4 Health & Safety Please ensure you follow all Health and Safety procedures Any equipment must used under the tutors supervision When using materials, follow instructions as specified by the tutor or materials own instruction If you are unsure please ask your tutor

5 College information The Learner Guide can be found on the College Website . This has lots of information about the College, our policies and procedures and other useful information.

10 Safeguarding Learners Bullying and Harassment
The college takes your well-being very seriously and has a no- tolerance policy on bullying and harassment which can be found in the Safeguarding Guide. The guide has lots of useful information and details of people who can help you if you have any worries or concerns. The College Safeguarding and Wellbeing policy can be found on the College Website

11 PREVENT Prevent is the government strategy to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism Prevent is a support system to help people at risk Vulnerable people can be exploited by people who seek to involve them in terrorism and activities that support terrorism

12 PREVENT Look out for Downloading, viewing or sharing extremist materials Withdrawn and focused on one view of the world Increasingly unaccepting of other peoples opinions Change in appearance and becoming isolated from family and friends Telling you they plan to take part in or support extremist activity If you notice any of the following report it to your tutor or the Safeguarding Team

13 Safeguarding - E safety
As part of your course you will have access to online communities and the wider internet All students should be aware of their online safety and report any concerns to their class tutor Remember never give out personal details or arrange to meet people you have met online without telling someone else and arranging to meet in a public place See our Learner Guide for ways to keep safe on line

14 Using IT at the College The College has free public Wi-Fi and you are able to bring your own laptops or tablets with you to use in class Access to Wi-Fi is…… DW$-4026 Student computers can be accessed in the canteen or the first floor lobby by the lift You will be issued with a log on to allow full access to the college Moodle

15 Reporting absence Attendance at every taught session is very important and good attendance is strongly linked to success, but if you are unable to attend please follow the procedure. Text Phone State your name, Class Tutor, when and where the class is and reason you cannot attend. If you miss 3 session without contacting the college or you tutor you may be withdrawn from the course

16 TIPS Please be on time- the car park can get full
Please don’t compare yourself to others think about where you started and the progress you can make Some classes have mixed abilities so please be patient ILP’s are used to set targets and record progress, tutors will regularly give feedback to about how you are doing
