Arts, Medicine, Astronomy, Metal Casting, Sculpture, & Textile Manufacturing Trade with China allowed for great influence Buddhism is introduced becomes dominant religion Set up Confucian academy and civil service exam Social Issues Conflict between peasants & aristocracy led to the overthrow of the dynasty

Koryo Dynasty Where the name Korea is derived from
Confucianism & Buddhism were very influential Woodblock printing from China Produced flood of Buddhist texts Later created moveable type More books produced Porcelain making from China Produced their own > celadon Blue Green Glaze Mongols invaded & overran Korea Lost the art of making celadon Darn Mongolians!!!

Last & longest lived dynasty Reduced Buddhist influence Set up govt. based on Confucian principles King Sejong most celebrated ruler Develops hangul > phonetic alphabet > leads to high literacy rate Japanese use Korea as gateway to attack China 1590s When they leave they steal Korean artisans to introduce skills to Japan
