3. 1. On first page, click on the "Insert" tab at the top of the Word program, then choose the Header tool.

4. 2. Choose the "Blank" style from the drop-down menu.

6. 4. On first page, in header area enter first page header with label “Running Head: SHORT TITLE”

7. 5(a). On first page, with the cursor at the end of the Header text, click on “Insert Alignment Tab” tool in Design tab

8. 5(b). In pop-up Alignment Tab box, select Right alignment, then click OK; insertion point/cursor moves to right margin

9. 6. Click “Quick Parts” tool in Design menu; then select “Field” option in drop-down menu
