Formal group that resisted British Taxes and Laws in the colonies. Existed in all colonies and social classes. Violence, vandalism, boycotts, and protests were common acts. Famous members include Samuel Adams, John Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock, James Otis, and Patrick Henry.
