School Internal Accounts Policies and Procedures on Cash Receipts All collections and deposits handled by school board employees shall pass through the school bookkeeper and shall be controlled by the principal. Receipts shall be deposited each business day, one hundred percent (100%) intact. The bookkeeper never signs a Report of Monies Collected form for monies they did not receive and did not verify for deposit. Every School. Every Classroom. Every Student. Every Day.

LOSSES In the event that a school suffers a loss of cash or merchandise, this loss shall be communicated immediately to the principal Every School. Every Classroom. Every Student. Every Day.

LOSSES The principal or designee will notify the following individuals when any school property has been vandalized, stolen, or lost: The proper law enforcement agency immediately to provide such information as may be available if the property is believed to be stolen. LOSSES If a loss occurs in funds received by a teacher, sponsor, or other school personnel through negligence, the negligent party shall be held personally liable for the amount of the loss. Police Incident Reports are required whenever: A loss occurs which appears to be a theft Any loss of a receipt book (Student Activity, or Community Education Receipt Books) A copy of the Police Incident Report shall be sent to Internal Auditing and be placed in the school’s audit file. Florida State Statute : Definitions: “Non-instructional contractor” means any vendor, individual, or entity under contract with a school or with the school board who receives remuneration for services performed for the school district or a school, but who is not otherwise considered an employee of the school district. The term also includes any employee of a contractor who performs services for the school district or school under the contract and any subcontractor and its employees. Every School. Every Classroom. A fingerprint-based criminal history check shall be performed on each non-instructional contractor who is permitted access to school grounds when students are present, whose performance of the contract with the school or school board is not anticipated to result in direct contact with students, and for whom any unanticipated contact would be infrequent and incidental. Disqualifying Crimes Any offense listed in s. (1)(a)1., relating to the registration of an individual as a sexual offender. Section , relating to sexual misconduct with certain developmentally disabled clients and the reporting of such sexual misconduct. Section relating to sexual misconduct with certain mental health patients and the reporting of such sexual misconduct. Section 775.30, relating to terrorism. Every School. Every Classroom. Section 782.04, relating to murder. Section 787.01, relating to kidnapping. Any offense under chapter 800, relating to lewdness and indecent exposure. Section 826.04, relating to incest. Each Applicant must complete an I-9 form and have appropriate Identification for processing. It takes between 10 to 14 days to receive a badge once the employee is fingerprinted. Every School. Every Classroom. Every Student. Every Day.

15.4 Secondary Employment DCPS Police Department officers shall be given the right of first refusal with regards to all off-duty employment that occurs on Duval County School Board property. Employees who work a secondary employment event shall be compensated based on the number of hours worked at a rate of time and a half of their hourly pay. Every School. Every Classroom. Any requests for an officer to work a secondary employment event shall be routed through the DCSP Lieutenant of Secondary Employment. Outside agencies will be contacted by the DCSP Lieutenant of Secondary Employment if a DCSP officer is not able to cover the event. Please try and allow at least (ONE) week advanced notice requesting a police officer. Only one event per day shall be placed on each duty roster. Every School. Every Classroom. Every Student.
