1 Obama to Veto Bill

2 The White House said on Monday that President Obama would veto legislation approved by Congress allowing the families of victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to sue Saudi Arabia for any role in the plot. The Kingdom has denied any role in the attacks, but 15 of the 19 hijackers were of Saudi descent. The White House previously suggested the President would not sign the bill saying it would complicate diplomatic relations and would encourage other countries to haul American diplomats or service members into courts. The bill -- which passed the House unanimously on Friday and passed the senate in May -- has not yet been presented to the President. Once given to the President for review, he will make his decision. If the bill is vetoed, lawmakers are expected to attempt to override the veto, and if successful, would mark the first time in Obama's presidency.

3 In Other News The Israel Defense Forces have rejected Syrian military claims to have downed an Israeli warplane and drone over southwest Syria Tuesday morning as "completely false.” The General Command of the Syrian Armed Forces said in a statement that the incident occurred at 1:30 am local time Tuesday (6:30 p.m. ET Monday), after Israeli warplanes attacked a Syrian army position near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The statement said that Syrian air defense shot down a warplane and a drone. But the IDF spokesman's office called the claims "total lies." Protesters rushed the stage after Ryan Lochte's first performance on "Dancing with the Stars," interrupting the live show Monday evening. The incident occurred as Lochte was receiving one of the judge's critique of his dance routine. Two men got on the ballroom dance floor and at least four other people yelled anti-Lochte chants. Two protesters outside of the event were seen being led away in handcuffs. They both wore T-shirts that contained a red circle with a slash going through the word Lochte. One man called Lochte "a liar." A conversation between dolphins may have been recorded by scientists for the first time, according to a Russian researcher. Two adult Black Sea bottlenose dolphins, named Yasha and Yana, didn't interrupt each other during an interaction taped by scientists and may have formed words and sentences with a series of pulses. There are two different types of noises dolphins use for communication, whistles and clicks, also known as pulses. However, there will need to be more research before scientists can be sure whether dolphins are chatting.
