DESCRIPTION Danube - the largest river that crosses the EU and the second largest in Europe, representing a true natural axis of Central Europe, through which it connects with the Black Sea and far zones of Central Asia. Danube River crosses throughout ten countries and four European capitals. Bucharest is located in the close proximity of the course. Among the Danubian countries, Romania holds the largest area of the Danube basin (30%) and the Danube Delta, the second largest wetland in Europe, a unique ecosystem of international importance, declared Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO in Danube macro-region has multiple and diverse natural and cultural resources which can properly increases the economic potential of the area if it is properly managed. The need for development of the Danube macro-region and inter-regional cooperation has determined the European Commission to elaborate the Danube Strategy and correlating it with European territorial cooperation programs..

DESCRIPTION The Danube Strategy represents an opportunity to achieve territorial cohesion in the Danube region, leading to a balanced development, coherence and sustainability in the economic, social and environmental areas. The main objectives of the Danube Strategy are: 1. securing and sustaining economic, social and cultural development of countries and regions included in the Danube basin, according to the environmental protection standards; 2. reducing disparities between poorer and richer areas, according to EU cohesion policy objectives; 3. efficient use of European funds and attracting new funds for the Danube region.

DANUBE & DELTA aims to become a support for the European initiative by providing a platform to promote and encourage partnerships among both local and regional authorities and between authorities, governmental bodies and private environment by generating projects and partnerships. Therefore, DANUBE & DELTA offers a better exposure and promotes the development of the Danube region potential, operational programs and projects included in the Danube Strategy Action Plan. This event will bring together the main parties endorsed by the European Strategic Programme: the Coordinator the Beneficiary the Service Provider.

OBJECTIVES to promote the social and economic potential of Danube macro-region to promote new projects suitable for the Danube and Danube Delta area to attract investments to facilitate contracting and partenership between the Beneficiaries and the Service Providers to promote Danube Strategy Action Plan, operational programs and cross-border cooperation to create awareness among the European citizens of the importance and potential of the Danube corridor to facilitate the multicultural dialogue setting geographical connection between the Danube regions
