BYOD Policy BYOD is an optional program that individual teachers can choose to implement and parents/students can choose to participate in BYO devices are intended for educational use – no dedicated gaming devices or mobile phones are permitted The device must not contain a SIM card Refer to policy document for acceptable uses of BYOD Refer to Information and Device Requirements All internet activity is recorded Where device becomes a behaviour issue or interferes with the learning environment it may be confiscated Beck

BYOD Policy Teachers supporting BYOD will hand out copies of the relevant policy documents, the student agreement and device requirements to their class this week – copies are also available tonight Students wishing to participate in BYOD must complete a student agreement and hand it to their classroom teacher BEFORE bringing their device to school Beck

Equipment Thank you for providing the requested equipment
Please ensure students come prepared for class Equipment must be labeled (where possible) and stored in one reasonably sized pencil case Replace equipment as required Optional items – USB, textas Beck

Homework Essential for developing positive work habits and reinforcing key concepts Weekly literacy and numeracy task Additional tasks to support the classroom program may also be set e.g. research, projects etc Internet access may be required, if this is not possible teachers will provide an alternative or students may use the school lab at designated breaks Problems? Student Diaries Student diaries are to be bought to school each day
Store diary and any notes inside plastic document wallet Teachers may record any minor incidents in diary – please sign Beck

How can you help? Contact your child’s classroom teacher if you have any issues or concerns – before they escalate Ensure your child is organised and prepared for school each day – healthy lunch, water, uniform, equipment Engage with your child’s learning – ask questions, assist with homework, talk about successes/challenges in the classroom Check school website and Skoolbag App for updates and permission notes Sarah
