What you should sow, plant and harvest in September: Off the internet we gathered some information from the National Allotment society. Top of the list has to be onions and potatoes. They need to be pulled out of the soil before the cold damp days of Autumn arrive. Onions must be kept In the light and potatoes need to be stored in the dark to prevent them from turning green, but they both have to be stored somewhere to keep the frost out. Onions and potatoes

What to do about pests: Wasps are attracted this time of year due to the ripening of your fruit. Hang wasp traps in fruit trees and protect any grapes from wasps with netting or mesh. Pests you can get in your garden
