Kerry Rosvold Microsoft MVP Business Solutions

19 Session Objectives Understand why closing the month faster matters
Learn techniques to close faster Take actionable ideas back to your company today

20 Fast Close Principles NAVUG NAVUG Focus 2017 9/10/2018 10:26 PM
Principle #1 – MINDSET Changing the mindset regarding ME close is most important. Peeps are comfortable/don’t feel they can effect change/even worried about “if this goes away, what will I do?” Need to change EXPECTATIONS (understand why), change the JOB (get to do other things), and have a GOAL (communicate). Don’t sacrifice QUALITY or your initiative will fail. Remember we need to ROW THE BOAT Principle #2 – PLANNING – You have to have a publicly accessible and prominently displayed SCHEDULE, must always focus on what to AUTOMATE, and always ask the question “What can we do AHEAD OF TIME?” Principle #3 – REDUCE – Reduce the number of DECISIONS that need to be made (including approvals), the number of TRANSACTIONS processed, and MEASURE to manage EASIEST: Planning! HARDEST: Mindset! We’re going to go over 25 IDEAS to get you going with closing faster.

21 Roundtable Conversation: FOCUS 2017
