7 Ease of Access Start Menu > Control Panel/Settings > Ease of Access Center The Ease of Access Center is a centralized location for settings and programs that allow you to customize different accessibility tools

8 Ease of Access Available Accessibility Features:
Use the computer without a display Make the computer easier to see Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard Make the mouse easier to use Make the keyboard easier to use Use text or visual alternatives for sounds Make it easier to focus on tasks

9 Not sure where to start? Ease of Access Centre will prompt you with a survey and provide recommendations based on your needs

10 Set up High Contrast Contrast Inverts colors
Press left shift + alt + print screen to turn on and off

11 Magnifier Magnifier helps you read the computer screen more easily by zooming in anywhere on the screen Can select either lens or full screen

12 On Screen Keyboard Displays an on screen keyboard students can use with their mouse Word Predictor will also appear when you start selecting letters

13 Text to Speech- Narrator
You can have the narrator read out what is listed on your screen

14 Visibility Cursor Thickness Mouse (Make it easier to see)
Increases thickness of cursor so it more visible Mouse (Make a mouse easier to use) Change size and color of mouse display

15 Display Settings Start Menu > Control Panel > Display Settings
Adjust Color Select warmer colors, easier on the eyes for prolonged use Size Increase overall size of what is being displayed

16 STT- Speech Recognition
Click Start Menu > Control Panel/ Settings > Speech Recognition Speech recognition enables you to move around your computer screen by using voice commands instead of the keyboard and mouse Dictate sentences You will need a headset microphone. Follow instructions to set up Speech Recognition and go through the tutorial As soon as it is set up you can start it by saying start listening

18 Microsoft Word Accessibility Features
Read Mode Zoom Synonym and Translate Customize Ribbon Speak

19 Read Mode Read mode will make documents easier to read and look through To turn on read mode click on VIEW at the top and then Read Mode on the left side

20 Zoom Select VIEW at the top and then Zoom
Or use the zoom feature on the bottom of the page

21 Synonyms and Translate
Highlight the text, right click and click on Synonyms or Translate

22 Customize Ribbon You can declutter the tools at the top
File > Options> Customize Ribbon

23 TTS- Speak Button Click Customize Quick Access Toolbar in the upper left hand corner Click More Commands

24 Speak Button Cont’d Select All Commands under the Choose commands from drop- down menu near the top Click Speak then Add

25 Speak Button Cont’d Highlight text you want to have the Speak button read Click the Speak button
