Why do they need them in Rome?
What Are Aqueducts? Romans built Aqueducts to bring a constant flow of water into the city. Why do they need them in Rome? Although located near the Tiber River, the water was not safe to drink. They were first built because not enough water was being supplied from springs, rain and wells. Preventing population growth.

Cloaca Maxima Name literally means greatest sewer
Cloaca Maxima was a large sewer system in Rome Built around 600 BC by King Tarquinius Took much of the sewage of Rome out of the city
