Do the mass of animals affect their lifespan?
3
Why did we pick this question?
We chose to do this question because there is a myth that elephants lived longer than flies so we wanted to see if this applied to other animals too. Why did we pick this question?
4
To shorten it up, Data screenshot

Data Creature Weight (kilograms) Lifespan (years) human 90 70 cow 800
22 duck 2 10 cat 15 Guinea pig .1 5 goat pig 150 25 monkey dog turkey frog .050 3 giraffe 900 snake
6
Data of all of the animals put together
R² = we noticed that all of the animals together make the graph really scattered. Data of all of the animals put together
7
Data of only the heavy animals R² = 0.1071
I noticed in this graph that the heavy animals are super spread apart instead of close together.
8
Data of the small animals only
R² = 0.045 I noticed that this chart showed that there is a closer grouping in the small animals unlike the big group or even all of the animals.
9
Conclusion In conclusion, we discovered that the mass of an animal does affect its lifespan. Bigger animals have a record of living longer than smaller animals. The big animals have more weight, and they live longer. Smaller animals, which weigh less live shorter lives. Concluding that mass has to do with an animals lifespan.
